Co-founded by Jim Southern and Coley Andrews, Pacific Lake's experience spans from the first search fund acquisition in 1984 by Jim Southern to today. Trilogy Search Partners is a closely-held investment firm that invests in acquisitions of small, profitable companies, sourced primarily through the search fund model. Our roots include the formation and leadership of some of the largest mobile operations in the US as well as other global technology and wireless companies. We partner with search fund entrepreneurs, providing them with expertise and capital throughout the process of sourcing, acquiring and operating companies that meet our criteria.
Co-Founder - Pacific Lake Partners
Coley Andrews is a Co-Founder and Managing Member of Pacific Lake Partners. Since co-founding the firm in 2009, Coley has worked with over 50 Search Funds. He currently serves as a Director at Inspired eLearning, Aquavita, dESCO, and Data Fusion Technologies and as a Board Visitor at AlphaCredit, Raptor Technologies, Scottish American, Arizona College, and Vector Disease Control International. Coley graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in history and earned his MBA at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Vice Chairman - Asurion
Gerald is an entrepreneur, investor, and educator. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of Asurion, the world’s largest provider of technology protection services, serving more than 250 million consumers globally. Prior to serving as Vice Chairman, he served as Asurion’s President, and as Asurion’s Chief Financial Officer prior to that. During Gerald’s almost two decades at the company, revenue has grown from $15 million to greater than $6 billion.
As an investor, he has supported the entrepreneurial journey of a large number of leadership teams in the for profit and not for profit sectors. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Carillon Assisted Living (provider of assisted living services in the Southeast), Datacor (ERP software for the chemical industry), National Video Monitoring (regional provider of video surveillance services), Sunrun (provider of residential solar services), and QMC Telecom (wireless infrastructure provider in Latin America). He is a Trustee of the Nueva School and an investor in FARM, a social impact investment firm. Gerald is also a Lecturer in Management at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Gerald began his professional career with Goldman, Sachs & Co. He holds an MBA from Stanford and a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from Queen’s University in Canada. Gerald lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two sons.
CEO – Integra Partners
Andrew is the CEO of Integra Partners, a healthcare services company he acquired through the search fund model in 2011. In 2015, Integra was sold to Tufts Health Plan of Massachusetts, one of the country’s premier health insurers.
Prior to acquiring Integra, Andrew held roles at Goldman Sachs as an investment banker and Vestar Capital Partners as an investor for the multi-billion-dollar private equity fund. Andrew is an active investor in entrepreneurial, growth companies including Bonobos, Axial Markets, and numerous search funds and their acquired businesses. He is a board member of Integra Partners, Light Wave Dental, Datacor, and the Brooklyn Museum.
Andrew received a bachelor degree in business administration from Emory University and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
CEO – VDA, LLC
Jason Pananos is the President of VDA, LLC a holding company for Vector Disease Control International (VDCI) and SOLitude Lake Management. Pananos and his partner Jay Davis first acquired VDCI in 2011 through the search fund they formed in 2008 called Nashton Partners.
Prior to forming Nashton Partners Jason worked at United Technologies Corporation where he held roles focused on finance, strategic planning, and acquisition activity. Jason obtained a Master in Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and a BBA in finance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Pananos is an active investor in privately held business in the lower middle market.
CEO - VDA, LLC
Jay Davis is the CEO of VDA, LLC a holding company for Vector Disease Control International (VDCI) and SOLitude Lake Management. Davis and his partner Jason Pananos first acquired VDCI in 2011 through the search fund they formed in 2008 called Nashton Partners. Prior to forming Nashton Partners Jay worked as a consultant in the healthcare industry.
Jay obtained a Master in Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University. He is an active investor in privately held businesses in the lower middle market. Jay lives in Nashville and married another Nashville native, Susan McGugin Davis. They have two young boys.
Executive Chairman - Progressive Home Care
Kent is Executive Chairman and former CEO of Progressive Home Care, a Northern California-based home health company.
Previously, Kent held executive positions in marketing and product management for a VC-backed marketing automation startup, as a regional CFO and business analyst in Pepsico’s Pizza Hut Division, and as a management consultant at Ernst & Young. He is a member of the Board of Directors at Onesource Water, Integra Partners, Desco, Neuro International, and mTab.
He received his MBA from the Fully Employed Program at the University of California, Los Angeles and BS in finance from the University of Southern California.
